Ben's Pizza Party

So this is the crew that made it out for pizza on Ben's birthday. Speaking of Ben, he is a great guy and I'm really glad to have met him. Turns out he is Kara Bishoff's (and Collin's too) step brother. Anyway, we had some amazing pizza in PB in his honor and some great local brews as well. (Thats him kneeling down near the guy in the blue)

From our first house party at our place. Chris and I have thrown our fair share of kick ass parties. This is the crew of girls that always come out... Carly, Kayla, Sarah, Toni, and Kari.

Foozball with the Fonz

So this was a great surprise. During orientation week Peter Marshall, Alfonzo Pullido, and John Hornbeak were driving through San Diego en route to Baja California for a surf trip. Unfortunately their car broke down and they were stuck here for the day. We met up and had an epic boogie boarding sesh, and then an old school foosball match to boot.

Torrey Pines State Park

Biking up highway 1 gives some spectacular views. This is a quck moving pic from Torrey Pines State Park. I've been getting on my bike for some long rides, but I feel like this trend will depreciate to just riding to and from school on week days.

White Coat

So here I am... a first year med student learning a lot, sleeping a little, and trying to have as much fun as medical education will allow. It really sunk in that I am going to be here for the long haul when I dawned this white coat and was cheered on my much of my family (Aunt Lynne, Uncle John, Grandma, and my parents Cheryl and Charbel). Its funny to say but whereas before when I embarked on my college career, I didn't feel like I needed the support like I would this time around, and It was wonderful to have so many people behind me (as well as those who could not make it). So stay healthy for a while... because in about four years or so Dr. Kanaan will fix you right up.
